December 2007 – Astrological Update & Monthly Horoscope

The universal principles of expansion and contraction meet head on as Jupiter moves into Saturn’s sign (Capricorn) for the next year. Too much Jupiter and our dreams remain just a beautiful, ideal dream. Too much Saturn and we are stuck in what’s possible based on the past. Now is the time to bring your dreams “down-to-earth” in a balanced and sustainable way.

Venus in Scorpio 12/5-30, asks you to pay attention to the powerful emotions that most people find difficult to deal with – rage, intense anger, jealously, desire, and grief. Venus in Scorpio urges you to explore your emotional depths – and to access and release more aliveness and vitality in all your relationships.

The challenge with Saturn retrograde at 8 degrees Virgo, 12/19/07-5/2/08 (5:51 a.m.), is learning how to focus your attention (Virgo) on manifesting goals without an attachment to perfection (Saturn). The goal is to streamline your life so you can focus on what’s most important.

With the new Moon in Sagittarius at 17 degrees on 12/09 (10:42 am,) the focus is on embracing your spiritual quest. Moving beyond the love of spiritual knowledge (books, classes, workshops), the Moon in Sagittarius invites you to deepen your experience through witnessing the presence of spirit in your life.

Jupiter in Capricorn, 12/18-1/5/2009, combines the idealism and expansion of Jupiter with the realism and grounding energy of Saturn (the ruler of Capricorn). Since you are working with the universal principles of expansion (Jupiter) and contraction (Saturn), it’s important to create a balance so you can grow and expand in a sustainable way.

Mercury in Capricorn 12/20-1-8, helps manage and structure the contents of your mind so you can make detailed plans. Ground all of the details you’re tracking in your mind by making master lists of what you want to accomplish and then prioritize the goals on your lists.

The Sun enters Capricorn 12/21 at 11:08 p.m. marking the Winter solstice. The Capricorn principle demonstrates how self-reliance and consolidation of power and authority lead to mastery. Our job during Capricorn is to demonstrate mastery of accomplishment and right use of power and authority.

The full Moon at 1 degrees Cancer 12/23 (6:16 p.m.) helps you discover your needs for nurturing and comfort. Most of us are better at nurturing other people than ourselves. This month the focus is on “nurturing the nurturer.” What is it that you need for yourself? Is it OK to have others nurture you for a change?
